Message from the Past President

Several years ago an alum asked me “what’s the auxiliary?” Like any, we serve the alumni association. During each year’s retraining conference, we raise funds for the Dorothy P. Clore Scholarship. Last year we were able to award three SPI students with scholarships. This year at the 2012 conference, we had a 50/50 raffle and also a raffle for packages of gift cards. This second idea was the brilliant idea of our past president, Carol Musco. With many of us flying to conferences, gift cards are so much easier to pack.

But, the auxiliary means so much more to me. I have made lifetime friends and had so much fun over the years! The president conducts one executive and two business meetings during the conference, using easy to follow formats from our constitution. From all my experiences in volunteering, I have never gained so many personal rewards from so few efforts.
